Hello! Today I want to talk about something I’ve been doing for a few weeks now: Intermittent Fasting! Essentially, intermittent fasting is eating for a 6-8 hour window, and then fasting for 16-18 hours until the cycle starts again. I’ll be honest. For me, this hasn’t been too hard. The only thing that has been hard for me is eating the correct foods, but thanks to my grocery shop today I’m more ready than ever!
I started my day with some peppermint tea. It’s soothing and it’s from Trader Joes, so you know it’s good.
I had to take a picture of my face, because I’ve been told I am cranky in the morning, but I had never seen as much proof as today when I accidentally put my camera on selfie mode. I promise I am not as cranky in the morning as i look. I think.
I went to my favorite store ever (Trader Joes) for a healthy food haul. One thing that has gotten in my head is that I can’t afford to eat healthy, but I was really pleased to get a whole bunch of healthy products today at Trader Joe’s for under $105!
One of my favorite things to get at TJ’s is their cheeses! I bought this one for the first time and it was AMAZING. It’s like a brie/blue cheese hybrid and I’m here for it. It’s so tasty! Plus, it’s a breakfast cheese! I didn’t even know that existed but I’m happy it does.
For break-fast (because my fast ends daily at noon, so it’s not necessarily breakfast) I had four slices of cantaloupe paired with that breakfast brie. Wow! It was so good.
Later, I roasted brussel sprouts and mushrooms by tossing them in grape seed oil and seasoning with TJ’s “Everything But The Bagel Seasoning” and TJ’s “Unami Seasoning”. It’s my go to seasoning combo!
I paired the veggies with grilled chicken strips seasoned the same way I did the veggies.
I worked on my essay/speech for a little while. I still have no idea what my plan is for this, but it’s something.
I had to go for seconds on this snack. It’s just that good. Who knew cantaloupe and brie cheese is such a combo?!
I closed out with a little more chicken and veggies! YUM. All in all, my fast ended at noon and then started back up after my last chicken and veggie meal at 7:30. Then, I start my fasting app back again! As you can see, intermittent fasting is totally do able as long as you eat things to keep you satisfied while you fast!
