Wedding Traditions: Who Came Up With This Stuff?
In all honesty when we planned to marry a whole year after we got engaged, I thought I would have plenty of time to do all this 'wedding stuff'. That being said, if you were to ask me what I thought 'wedding stuff' was a year ago, I would say "pick a place to marry, pick a dress, get married, and DONE". Apparently there is more than that!! I found that out the hard way this year realizing these little annoying things are some how the most cherished traditions. Did you know that the bride has to wear something blue at her wedding? Ok, yeah I did too, but I didn't know that I would have to spend hours online gathering up all these ridiculous superstitious items! Can my 'something new' just be a receipt from Amazon stapled to my dress? Asking for a friend. Don't get me wrong, I love planning my wedding, but wowza is this more than I thought! There is invites, showers, thank you cards, RSVP cards, tasting cakes, tasting meats, looking at color swatches, and overall spending the most time I every will on Pinterest in my life. How's a girl supposed to blog with all this planning, ya know?
Anyways, sorry for the rant!! I do love weddings and I obviously love mine I'm about to have!
I wanted to share my invites! I found the most gorgeous suite on Minted and I just knew they were the ones for our wedding! I loved how they captured my vision of a woodsy night time wedding. I bought the stamps on Amazon and had a blast putting multiple vintage stamps on each envelope. It doesn't matter how old the stamp is, as long as you have enough to reach 50 cents, your envelope will reach the recipient! I have gotten RSVP cards sent back to me with little messages telling me how much they loved the stamps. Thank God they did, because I feared I would look crazy. I love stamps!! What is your favorite invitation flare to add?
