Days 8-14: Lesson Learned

HELLO! This week was a pretty busy one with a lot of different sleeping schedules. I haven’t been able to update my daily health journey, but thankfully I have been keeping track on my phone! Let’s start on day 8, last Tuesday!

Day 5: Saturdays Are For Couch Snuggles

Today was a nice and chill day! It’s been pretty rainy here in Los Angeles the past week, and today was no exception. On top of that, it’s pretty chilly! I opted to stay in all day and catch up on some TV. It’s the ideal Saturday for me. My dog was not complaining.

Day 2: I'll Leave The Smoothie Bowls To The Pros

Look at me keeping to my promise to myself! I’m on day two of logging in everything I ate publicly! Woo hoo!

I have pictures for everything except for one item. I didn’t take a picture of that one because I wasn’t as proud, but that wasn’t the rule! The rule to myself was to log EVERYTHING until I hit my goal weight, so that’s what I’m going to do. Maybe after I’m sick of having to fess up to the bad foods, I will stop eating them.

Okay! On to day two!

Day One Of My New Routine

I have been telling myself for awhile now I am going to log exactly what I eat each day, so I hold myself accountable, but today is the day I truly start keeping my promise.

I was recently watching ‘Made For More’ by motivational speaker, Rachel Hollis. She said something that really resonated with me. ‘WHAT IF I keep my promise to myself?’

I have been procrastinating writing a new post for a few reasons. The main reason is one I am about to admit: I was waiting for my life to be ‘blog worthy’.

And really, I have no idea what that even is, but I just didn’t feel like I was achieving enough for anyone to actually want to read this. Before I started blogging, I looked up tips on what makes a successful blog. One that stuck with me possibly unhealthily is “Live a Life People Want To Read About’. This made me feel like I had to catch up with a more put together life, before I could really succeed in this. I planned my future blog posts over things I planned to be in the future instead of who I currently am.

My Go To South Beach Diet Finds From Target

Those that don't know what the South Beach Diet is, I am currently in phase one. Phase one is the first 14 days of the diet (lifestyle) in which you take sugar and carbs completely out of your diet. This means no bread, ice cream, or even fruit. Before you decide that it sounds like hell, let me plea that it's only 14 days. I am on day nine and I can honestly say I do not crave sugar anymore! The first week was tough, but this week has been significantly easier. The first week, I would find myself on Pinterest day dreaming about recipes that require a lot of sugar and chocolate.

The Best and Easiest Cast Iron Skillet Steaks

David and I's one year anniversary of being engaged is approaching, so we wanted to treat ourselves with a steak dinner! I grabbed all the goods at Trader Joes, and then got home to cook the best skillet steaks I've ever had!! It helped that we used our new cast iron skillet we received as a wedding gift! I LOVE THIS SKILLET. I would marry this skillet if I wasn't already engaged, and honestly, if this skillet somehow made it to my wedding and yelled 'I OBJECT' at the right time, I may consider running off in the sunset with this red glorious masterpiece. IT'S THAT GOOD OF A SKILLET YOU GUYS!
